這輩子第一次收到有人送我CD當生日禮物，就是水叮噹AQUA的「水瓶座」那張專輯。因為那個人的一句話(請蛋糕就送妳禮物)，因為非常想要得到他送的任何東西，我冒著我最討厭的大雨天，跑到校外去買了一個小蛋糕給他。

當然，我如願以償地得到了禮物，雖然回頭想時也覺得自己的行為很詭異－－生日的明明是我不是嗎？－－但我就是控制不了自己。

那時我根本不認識AQUA，甚至還搞不清楚他為什麼選這個禮物給我－－禮物不是該挑生日的人喜歡的嗎？－－但待在他身邊許多年後，我終於懂了。他不是替別人著想型的人，當然，送他喜歡的東西給人的話，還可以保證對方會借給他。

我不知道為什麼那個時期的自己這麼沒骨氣，包容他的任性以及大男人主義，也甘願當個不被承認的角色。我不知道，即使現在很清楚地思考過後，為什麼心裡還是有一絲絲渴望。

我始終還記得收到禮物的隔天，在學校遇到時，他第一句對我說的話：「Doctor Jones很好聽吧？」我沒對他說，那一整個晚上，我只是邊聽專輯邊想著：上帝是否給我什麼暗示？我的人生會不會因為這張專輯有所改變？

其實我根本沒有仔細聽。

我想到《Larger Than Life》的女主角，我想到自己也曾那樣以某個人的品味為自己的品味。現在要我說實話的話，我第一個晚上聽時，印象最深的是〈my oh my〉。當然，我也喜歡〈Doctor Jonse〉，畢竟它曾是我對多年執迷不悟的開端。
